Preventing violence through self-defense training

More than 100 women and girls participated in a self-defense training during the summer of 2020 in Albania. They learned to prevent and respond to situations of abuse, violence, bullying and crime, during a free online course UN Women developed in collaboration with Aikido and with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation (Sida). Participants aged from 14 to 50 years old highlighted that after the training they feel more empowered and self-confident.
