Women are key to peace, Liudmyla’s story

Liudmyla Bileka was a paramedic on the frontlines of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. Since she came back from the frontlines, she has been struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). To overcome PTSD and help other veterans do the same, she is taking the lead on screen as an actress of the acclaimed film Atlantis, and off-screen as an activist advocating for proper psychosocial services for veterans.This story is a part of the UN Women campaign Women Are Key to Peace realized with the financial support of Norway, Sweden, Canada, Denmark, and the European Union.
