Ceren Güven Güres, Head of the UN Women Central Asia Liaison Office and Representative of the Kazakhstan Country Office

Ms. Güven Güres brings 15 years of experience in managing peace, humanitarian, and development programmes, as well as strong expertise in partnership building and advocacy across multiple international duty stations. Most recently, she served as Country Programme Manager for UN Women Uzbekistan, where she successfully led the establishment of the Programme Presence Office. She has also held regional level roles at the UN Women ECA Regional Office, following her earlier work as Programme Specialist.

In addition to serving as official UN Women Representative for Kazakhstan in support of the Country Office team, her role focuses on strengthening support, partnership building, exchange of knowledge and engagement across Central Asia countries from a regional perspective, in coordination with the UN Women offices in respective countries.

Before joining UN Women, she worked with UNICEF in Türkiye, Germany, and at the UNICEF National Committee for Germany, as well as with the Council of Europe and the European Patent Office.

She holds a PhD in Business Administration, as well as two master’s degrees in Leadership and Change Management and European Studies. A national of both Türkiye and Germany, she is fluent in Turkish, German, and English.
