Forty activists representing youth civil society organizations and networks from 22 countries in Europe and Central Asia met to identify and discuss priorities for the advancement of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the region.

The young leaders met at the first ever Generation Equality Europe and Central Asia Youth Forum hosted from 6 to 8 December 2022 in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Forum was organized within the framework of UN Women’s Generation Equality movement, a 5-year journey to accelerate action and implementation on global gender equality.

Supported by UN Women Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECARO), young participants co-created and facilitated the 3-day event which was composed of capacity-building sessions, conversations with Generation Equality Commitment-Makers and brainstorming sessions.
