Co-convened by UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia and the UNFPA Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, the youth and adolescent dialogues ahead of the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action will gather young people’s views on fostering just, peaceful, and inclusive societies and ending violence against women and girls. Event description

This meeting is part of a series of dialogues with young people organized ahead of the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The session aims to lead to a position paper or outcome document with articulated recommendations on the 12 critical areas of the Beijing Platform of Action, clustered into six thematic areas: inclusive development, shared prosperity, and decent work; freedom from violence, stigma, and stereotypes; poverty eradication, social protection, and social services; peaceful and inclusive societies; participation, accountability, and gender-responsive institutions; and environmental conservation, protection, and rehabilitation).

This dialogue aims to gather youth and adolescents’ views on critical areas of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, specifically on how to foster just, peaceful, and inclusive societies, and end violence against women and girls, stigma and stereotypes to advance gender equality.
