Event description
Event sponsors: UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
This meeting will provide young people from Europe and Central Asia (ECA) with a robust understanding of the Beijing Platform for Action, its relevance to contemporary gender equality issues, and the forthcoming 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women. Participants will explore opportunities to influence the Beijing+30 appraisal process.
This session precedes a series of online dialogues with young people to lead to a position paper or outcome document with key articulated recommendations on the 12 critical areas of the Beijing Platform of Action, grouped into six thematic areas: inclusive development, shared prosperity, and decent work; freedom from violence, stigma, and stereotypes; poverty eradication, social protection, and social services; peaceful and inclusive societies; participation, accountability, and gender-responsive institutions; environmental conservation, protection, and rehabilitation.
