Event description

UN Women in collaboration with the School of Data and Data against Feminicide invites applications from researchers, journalists, and gender advocates to conduct a femicide research in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The main objective of the initiative is to support research on femicide in these countries by developing a joint methodology for Central Asian countries based on the experience of Kyrgyzstan and international practice.

Studying femicide is crucial for uncovering and understanding systematic violence and discrimination against women and contributes to the development of effective strategies to prevent such crimes and ensure women's safety.

  • Workshop to improve skills required for femicide research, including data collection, analysis and visualization in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

How to apply? 

Potential participants should carefully complete the application form and briefly outline their motivation for participating in the femicide research, as well as provide links to their previous work/projects relevant to the topic of women's and girls' rights.  

Application deadline: 15 April 2024, 23:59 Istanbul time (GMT +3:00).  

Language 

The webinar, workshop and mentorship will be provided in Russian language. The research can be prepared in Kazakh, Tajik, Uzbek or Russian languages.
