Women’s Entrepreneurship Satellite Expo 2023 in Moldova
Event description
Event sponsors: UN Women in Moldova
On 20 October, UN Women Moldova will organize the conference “She supplies - empowering women through gender-responsive procurement and sourcing.” The event will bring together key stakeholders from the entrepreneurship ecosystem to discuss actions, progress around gender-responsive procurement, state policies and best practices. The main goal of the conference is to gather together policymakers, industry leaders, academics, CSOs, and other stakeholders committed to promoting gender equality in supply chains through sourcing and procurement. They will share success stories, tools, and discuss challenges faced by businesses.
On 21-22 October, the satellite event of Expo 2023 will take place, convening over 100 women entrepreneurs, including women refugees, alongside buyers, facilitating opportunities for commerce, partnership establishment, networking, information exchange, and the development of sustainable collaborations.
The women entrepreneurs will represent Moldova’s key agri-food industries, such as honey, tea, bee-related products, nuts, almonds, fruits, dried fruits, chocolates, handcrafted and handmade products, cheese, dairy products, fresh and processed fruits, and vegetables.
With the Expo’s emphasis on Gender Responsible Procurement, private sector partners, especially Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) signatories, as well as representatives from supermarket chains, e-commerce platforms, and business aggregators, will be invited to connect with women entrepreneurs, fostering potential future cooperation. Women entrepreneurs will also be encouraged to become WEPs signatories.
The conference and the satellite event are part of the UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia’s regional initiative – Women’s Entrepreneurship Expo 2023.
