Western Balkans Stocktaking Workshop on Gender Responsive Budgeting Implementation at Local Level: Expert Discussion and Knowledge Exchange

A two-day workshop will be held in Tirana, Albania with the participation of UN Women gender responsive budgeting (GRB) project staff and experts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo[1], North Macedonia, and Serbia with an aim to exchange experience and knowledge on GRB implementation at the local level.
The regional workshop will include sessions on best practices and lessons learned in the region followed by plenary discussions.
The objective of this workshop is to take stock of what has been done so far, exchange experience on GRB implementation streaming from expert engagement at local and sub-national level. This workshop will provide an opportunity to strengthen the capacities and improve knowledge of locally engaged GRB experts on the GRB implementation in the region. New avenues of GRB interventions in the future will be also discussed during the workshop. The event also aims to facilitate discussions on precondition for GRB successful implementation, challenges faced and next steps.
This workshop is organized under the regional programme “Transformative Financing for Gender Equality towards more Transparent, Inclusive and Accountable Governance in the Western Balkans” (2020-2024) financially supported by Sweden.
