
Studying the Level and Main Causes of Violence and Sexual Harassment at the Workplace in the Republic of Kazakhstan

This research paper thoroughly investigates the issues of violence and workplace sexual abuse (harassment) against women in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Through comprehensive statistical studies, authors elucidate the extent and pervasiveness of such atrocities in the country. Authors delve into an analytical discussion of the principal types and causes of this violence and harassment at the workplace, offering significant insights based on the data collected.
In response to these alarming findings, authors consider the possibility of ratifying international instruments that could help prevent such offenses in the workplace. Additionally, authors have designed a holistic set of measures to counteract and prevent violence and sexual harassment, including suggestions for state monitoring and control mechanisms in this area.
Our research findings and recommendations have been preliminarily presented and discussed with key stakeholders from various sectors: government agencies, the private sector, civil society, and international as well as local organizations. This collaboration is done to validate results and recommendations before submitting them to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MLSP) of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Authors goal is to provide a comprehensive solution to mitigate violence and sexual harassment in the workplace and uphold the rights and dignity of women in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
