UN Women’s Country Gender Equality Brief (CGEB) provides a snapshot of the status of gender equality and the empowerment of women in Belarus, particularly against the gender-related indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Framed under Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, the CGEB also attempts to summarize how/ if women from marginalized or vulnerable communities may face multiple layers of discrimination.

Developed using a UN Women corporate methodology and template, through a document review only and in consultation with the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Belarus, the CGEB reflects current research and statistics allowing to assess a status of gender equality. CGEB does not attempt to process or interpret raw data. The CGEB is expected to inform GE related programme development and advocacy.
