The UN system coordination mandate of UN Women encompasses aspects of leading, coordinating and promoting the accountability of the UN system on gender equality and the empowerment of women, including regular monitoring of system-wide progress, and more broadly mobilizing and convening key stakeholders to ensure greater coherence and gender mainstreaming across the United Nations.

Building on a corporate evaluation of the same topic, UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia  undertook this strategic regional evaluation to assess the progress made so far in UN system coordination towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment results.
