UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina developed an e-BOOK with 16 themes related to gender-based violence (GBV) in the country. The aim of this project is to address GBV, but also gender equality in general, and raise awareness among a wider audience, in particular the youth, as a way of preventing and eliminating GBV. The book is a reflection of how Bosnian youth perceive the problem of GBV. UN Women wanted to give young people a voice to express their approach regarding preventing gender-based violence using multimedia.

The contributors to the campaign were selected in September 2011 through a Photography and Short Story Competition. The best photos and stories were selected and their authors attended a workshop where they learned more about gender-based violence, storytelling, photography and multimedia. Following the workshop, under the guidance of UN Women, TNT Studio and with the support of the International University of Sarajevo, 16 young authors employed their talent and creativity to develop the pages of the 16 DAYS eBook-Youth Say No to Violence! UN Women undertook this project within the framework of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign in 2011.
