This manual is an important tool to assess development trends, analyse facts and monitor the Government of Albania’s implementation of its commitments and obligations to gender equality and women’s human rights. Social economic policy-makers, implementers, researchers and monitors, international organizations and government and non-governmental organizations will find the guide’s indicators useful to develop, draft, implement and evaluate related programmes. They can also help the general Albanian public better understand their society. Funded by UN Women, the manual is the result of long efforts by a technical group led by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, with representatives from the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), line ministries, local NGOs, academia and international organizations.
