Beijing+30 Youth event

In 2025, the global community will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995), and 10 years of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals. On the occasion, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women will, in March 2025, undertake a review and appraisal of progress made in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and accelerate the realization of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.

Preceding this, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Europe (UNECE) in collaboration with the UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECARO) will convene the Beijing+30 Regional Review Meeting in October 2024. The regional review will take place at a critical time for the international community to take stock of progress made and actions required to address barriers to gender equality and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Accordingly, all States are called upon to undertake comprehensive national-level reviews of the progress made and challenges encountered in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

In this regard, recognizing the need to empower Member States to better engage in the review process, the workshop on Beijing+30 national-level review and questionnaire is jointly convened by UNECE and UN Women ECARO. Specifically, the workshop aims to enhance the capacities of the national focal points for the Beijing+30 preparatory process to complete the review and questionnaire. Additionally, it will provide comprehensive training on the reporting process, enabling UNECE Member States to share questions and remarks.
