Historic law in Moldova introduces paid paternity leave

In 2016, the Republic of Moldova adopted Law 71, which, for the first time, allows fathers to benefit from 14 days of paternity leave in the first 56 days of the newborn’s life, paid by the state.This video was developed by UN Programme "Women in Politics", in partnership with URMA TA. The UN Programme "Women in Politics" was implemented by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with East Europe Foundation (EEF) and “Partnership for Development” Center (CPD), funded by the Government of Sweden.
