The report summarizes ongoing initiatives by other actors and identifies key gaps, challenges, opportunities and entry points for UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia in the areas of gender statistics at the regional level in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The report was prepared based on the assessment conducted by a gender statistics consultant, for the period of September - November 2016. It involved desk review of key documents and a series of interviews with UN Women staff, UN partners and non-UN partners at the country, regional and global levels. Based on the key findings and recommendations from this assessment report, UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia is currently developing a regional project that is specific to the context of the region. This upcoming project aims to provide technical support to UN Women offices at the country level on gender statistics and to strengthen regional level collaboration with key partners in order to better contribute to SDGs monitoring at the country and regional levels. ;
