As the world marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in 2025, UN Women Türkiye continues to foster feminist solidarity across generations through its Speed Dialogue Meetings. The latest of these dynamic gatherings took place in Diyarbakır, bringing together senior and young women’s rights activists from the region and neighboring provinces. Focused on the theme of “Women in Leadership and Decision-Making,” the meeting provided a unique platform for activists to exchange experiences, ideas, and strategies to advance gender equality and build collective strength.

Held under the project “Reimagining Gender Equality Across Generations and Communities in Türkiye,” supported by the Government of Norway, the event explored how feminist activism has evolved over decades and how digitalization is reshaping the ways women advocate for their rights today. These intergenerational dialogues aim not only to amplify young women’s voices but also to reinforce inclusive movement-building in line with the global Beijing+30 process, which calls for urgent and bold actions to accelerate equality for all women and girls.

“This gathering of different generations in the feminist struggle reminded us not only of the importance of past experiences, but also the value of our voices, knowledge, and methods as today’s young women. This intergenerational dialogue made us feel that reciprocal learning and an inclusive common language are truly possible.”

“As we discussed the challenges we’ve faced while combating gender-based violence, I realized they were all worth it. Seeing the younger generation embrace the struggle with such strength lifted my morale and motivation.”
