Call for Proposal for Civil Society Organizations to provide series of training activities for women to strengthen women’s participation in the digital economy in order to ensure women’s sustainable development in the future
Submission deadline: 16 October 2025
UN Women Uzbekistan plans to engage a local NGO to provide series of training activities for women to strengthen women’s participation in the digital economy, to improve their digital and financial skills to ensure women’s sustainable development in the future.
The planned set of training activities will be provided in the framework of the Global Accelerator Joint Program “Objective 1.7 Skills development for women entrepreneurship”. The objective aims to promote women's economic empowerment by equipping them with market-relevant skills to actively and equally participate in formal entrepreneurship and employment. It specifically focuses on fostering women’s capacity to create and manage sustainable businesses and to enhance their participation in emerging sectors such as the digital and green economies. By investing in targeted skills development, including digital and financial literacy, entrepreneurial know-how, and e-commerce capabilities, this objective addresses the existing gender gap in labor force participation, income generation, and access to decent work. It also helps align the supply of women’s skills with the current and future demands of the labor market, contributing to inclusive economic growth and just transitions.
Within the proposed timeframe and budget, the project aims to train 250 women and certify 20 participants through a Training of Trainers (ToT) program. The goal is for at least 50% of the trained women to successfully initiate or expand income-generating activities using digital marketing and e-commerce tools.
