Comic Competition: Picture Gender Equality!
We invite you to show us what comes to your mind when you think of equal rights and opportunities, widespread gender stereotypes and inequalities. Imagine the situations that illustrate the problems brought by discrimination and how equal opportunities for everyone can change the life of women and men in Ukraine.Date:
UN Women and the EU Delegation in Ukraine are pleased to announce the National Comic Competition on Gender Equality for youth. Picture your understanding of equal rights and opportunities for women and men, girls and boys in a simple comic!
Entries
The Competition is open to Ukrainian nationals from 18 to 30 years old.
The following rules apply to the comic:
- Your comic must not include words;
- Your artwork can be composed of one picture or a series, maximum six boxes fitting on one DIN A4 page (210mm x 297mm);
- The resolution of the comic must be 150 dpi or higher;
- Data size is limited to 5MB per drawing in jpg, jpeg, png or pdf formats.
The comic must be submitted with short bio of the artist, maximum 150 words and a copy of the artist’s passport/ID (first page).
Submission can be done both by post and email to the following addresses under subject Picture Gender Equality:

Prizes
One First Prize: 10000 UAH
Two Second Prizes: 5000 UAH
Three Third Prizes: 2000 UAH each
The six finalists will be invited to Kyiv for the Competition awards ceremony. Selected artworks may be considered for exhibition as well as for further publication. Winners will be selected by a jury composed of professional comic artists and gender equality experts.

The Competition is part of the UN Women-UNDP Joint Project “Restoration of Governance and Reconciliation in Crisis-affected Communities in Ukraine”, the project is funded by the European Union.
