Assessing the lights and shadows of COVID-19: A gender analysis of pandemic-related impacts on women and girls in Europe and Central Asia
This gender analysis identifies the most significant impacts of COVID-19 on gender equality in the region in order to inform gender-sensitive national response, recovery, planning and investment. It examines the impacts in five areas that were identified as priorities for ECA during the 2019 Regional Review Meeting on implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action (Beijing+25). Key actions for sustainable recovery are also presented, with detailed recommendations. More

Guidelines for gender-responsive sports organizations have been developed as a trail-blazing effort to translate the UN Women’s Sports for Generation Equality principles into a feasible step-by-step guide. The guidelines are structured to help sports organizations in terms of empowerment of women and girls and advancement of gender equality through concrete and quantifiable actions and indicators. They aim to mobilize action on gender equality in day-to-day and overall operations.

The “Regional Guidelines for Risk Assessment and Risk Management to Prevent the Recurrence and Escalation of Violence Against Women” are designed to inform and support relevant authorities tasked with dealing with cases of violence against women, including institutions in the chain of protection of women from violence, when creating measures and policies to prevent violence against women and its escalation. The guidelines were developed by the Center of Women’s Rights, based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the UN Women’s regional programme on ending violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey "Implementing Norms, Changing Minds," funded by the European Union.
