The present report, submitted pursuant to UN General Assembly resolution 73/146, provides information on measures taken by Member States and activities carried out within the United Nations system to eliminate trafficking in women and girls. The report focuses on efforts to address the gender dimensions of trafficking, with a special focus on the economic drivers and consequences of trafficking, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on trafficking of women and girls.

Based on monitoring of print media in 2014, this publication gives a comprehensive overview on how Albania’s print media reports on human trafficking of women and girls, a serious concern there. It identifies key issues and offers journalists, media leaders, public institutions, the police and other actors a set of recommendations to improve reporting on trafficking of women and girls and more effectively fight trafficking.

The purpose of this research is to provide information that will contribute to the development of strategies and interventions directed toward preventing gender‐based violence against sex workers and which will facilitate the providing of post‐violence support to sex workers who have suffered such violence.
