A decade after the first study on women’s entrepreneurship in Serbia, UN Women in Serbia supported the development of another study aimed to review the state of women’s entrepreneurship in a bid to identify changes, achievements, challenges and the potential of women’s entrepreneurship that future policies should focus on.

The report summarizes UN Women’s key areas of progress and results during the first five months of the full-fledged war in Ukraine. The lives of women and men across Ukraine have been profoundly impacted by the crisis brought on by the escalation to a full-fledged war on 24 February 2022. UN Women acted swiftly to ensure that women and girls affected by the war are supported and that the humanitarian response to the crisis is gender sensitive.

This study contains research and evidence on needs and priorities of young women affected by war and is aimed at facilitating advocacy initiatives for young women to voice their concerns and demands. The study is developed by UN Women Ukraine together with NGO Internews Ukraine.

This rapid assessment examines how the impacts of COVID-19 are threatening women’s ability to access justice. The assessment reflects challenges faced by women and girls of diverse backgrounds and socio-economic groups, including those experiencing overlapping disadvantages and those facing amplified challenges in humanitarian settings. Cross-regional and local experiences are highlighted, and quantitative data is utilized where available.

The present strategy provides guidance and recommendations on how governmental institutions of Ukraine, civil society organizations, international organizations and UN system can join efforts to effectively prevent and respond to conflict-related sexual violence. The publication was developed with the technical support of the UN Women Ukraine and UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine in frames of the UN Women project "Gender Equality at the Center of Reforms, Peace and Security" funded by the Government of Sweden.

Koha for survivors, a joint publication of Koha Ditore and UN Women provides information on comprehensive efforts to recognize and compensate victims of conflict sexual violence in Kosovo. It aims to raise the voice and demands of survivors and allow for a more accurate understanding of the complexity surrounding sexual violence associated to the conflict and its devastating impact on individuals and society.

This report is a baseline study on the socio-economic obstacles faced by sexual violence survivors during conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina in their everyday lives. It has been initiated jointly by three UN agencies (UNFPA, UNDP and UN Women) and the IOM in BiH, aimed at addressing the needs and improving the services for wartime sexual violence survivors.

WEPs signatory companies are expected to consider their sector, corporate culture, and current situation, in terms of gender equality and impact areas, and develop a solution in line with their targets and necessities. This guide aims to support companies in creating a roadmap for developing solutions in accordance with WEPs. The guide explains the scope of the principles, as well as indicators used to monitor them, and suggests policies to be followed during implementation.

Reparations for conflict-related sexual violence remain a pressing issue in many parts of the world. The Conflict Did Not Bring Us Flowers brings the voices of survivors of sexual violence during the 1998-1999 armed conflict in Kosovo to the fore, and proposes measures for the development of comprehensive reparations for survivors.

This is an assessment of the international and national response to the refugee crisis in Serbia and fYR Macedonia from a gender perspective carried out in Fall 2015.

A joint UN Women, FAO and WFP project used letters from rural Kyrgyzstan women to build a dialogue between them and their local service providers. This examines what happened after project members used the stories in the letters to run campaigns to curb discrimination and violence against women and girls and help them earn economic, political and social rights and increased access to local health care services.

This study highlights the main consequences of sexual violence during the Kosovo armed conflict; analyses the current state of reparations for those crimes; and details the most desirable ways to provide survivors redress for these crimes. It examines sexual violence in armed conflicts from international human-rights treaties and related legislation from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) and Kosovo.

This baseline study provides recommendations to improve monitoring and the promotion of business environments for women and best ways to provide support to overcome obstacles faced by women running or starting a business. In a first, it develops a profile of women entrepreneurs in Serbia, and offers insights into the scope and characteristics of women entrepreneurship, factors that encourage women’s entrepreneurship and success, and obstacles women entrepreneurs face in Serbia
