This publication presents the key findings of the rapid assessment conducted by UN Women and KAGİDER to identify the needs of women entrepreneurs operating in the provinces that were hit by the two major earthquakes in and around Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye on 6 February.

A new report published by the Regional Gender Task Force (RGTF), the leading advocacy and information and coordination platform on gender in humanitarian action in Europe and Central Asia, provides an in-depth analysis of existing evidence to increase understanding of gender and other social aspects and trends across the region.

To measure the level of safety of women and girls in public spaces throughout Serbia, UN Women joined forces with Citizens’ Assocciation FemPlatz to give the detailed overview and analyse experiences, factors and elements that are present in lives of women and girls in the domain of public safety.

The Manual for Facilitators: Gender Sensitive Refugee Response Programmes - Capacity Development Training for Civil Society Organizations aims to ensure continuous capacity development for a more gender-responsive refugee response, focused on front-line service providers, civil society organizations that work with/for the refugee and host communities, including those involved in programme design and implementation. 

During the Third Regional Forum on Ending Violence against Women in the Western Balkans and Turkey, representatives from governments, regional institutions and civil society from the Western Balkans and Turkey adopted a road map to advance work with perpetrators, leverage data through establishing femicide watches, promote social norms that favour equality, and make necessary amendments in laws, policies and budgets to provide fully funded, sustainable and high-quality services for survivors of violence.

To measure gender equality in the country, UN Women joined forces with the Coordination Body for Gender Equality, Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and SeCons, to calculate and analyze trends in six key domains: labor, money, knowledge, time, power, health, as well two satellite domains: cross-inequalities and violence against women.

The Compendium covers the work of the UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina over the past five years in working with the media, assessing their needs and capacities, and strengthening their role in preventing violence against women and girls and domestic violence.

The report "OSH Profile and decent work in Kosovo: Gender Equality Perspective”, is designed to match the OSH profile key components and serves to the purpose of highlighting gender mainstreaming issues in occupational safety and health in general. This report assesses each OSH aspect, it key references on what types of questions to be asked to understand gender mainstreaming requirements in the safety, health, education, management and enforcement aspects.

This publication summarizes the activities and results of the UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina 16 Days of Activism campaign in 2020, "Turn off violence against women and girls", which had the aim to increase awareness regarding the impact and consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on women and girls victims of violence.

The “Regional Guidelines for Risk Assessment and Risk Management to Prevent the Recurrence and Escalation of Violence Against Women” are designed to inform and support relevant authorities tasked with dealing with cases of violence against women, including institutions in the chain of protection of women from violence, when creating measures and policies to prevent violence against women and its escalation. The guidelines were developed by the Center of Women’s Rights, based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the UN Women’s regional programme on ending violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey "Implementing Norms, Changing Minds," funded by the European Union.

This publication provides data and analytical conclusions for the implementation of a comprehensive gender equality and human rights-based approach at all stages of the regional policy cycle - from the analysis of basic gender indicators for policy development to its implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

This publication intends to support policy makers, employers, and activists by sharing UN Women’s work on this topic and offering new guidance on policy and practice on sexual harassment.

This assessment was conducted from March to June 2020 in cooperation with TUSIAD, TURKONFED and UN Women Turkey to gain insights into the potential gendered effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the private sector, and to contribute to the development of policies to safeguard gender equality.
