Co-led and developed by UN Women on behalf of the Regional Gender Taskforce, this gender brief analyzes the access to employment and livelihoods of refugees from Ukraine and its gendered impacts. This is done through a review of key barriers (women) refugees face to building livelihoods, an identification of good practices adopted thus far, and 38 recommendations for how actors in the humanitarian response can address these barriers moving forward.

This publication showcases the results of the quiz on sexual violence, which was taken by citizens in five BiH cities and online during the 16 Days of Activism campaign in 2022. Moving towards the Gender Equality Index, Bosnia and Herzegovina 2022 presents data and index scores for two full domains, Knowledge and Power and the partial data and index sources for Work and Health as set by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) methodology on analysing the state of gender equality in a society. Women and Men in North Macedonia - a statistical portrait of trends in gender equality examines the trends in gender equality in several key areas, while analysing 12 editions of the Women and Men in North Macedonia, a signature publication by the State Statistical Office of North Macedonia, published in the period 2000 - 2021.

This study focuses on a specific part of economic journalism, namely that of covering public budgetary processes and the role of journalism in raising public awareness about budgeting, with special focus on gender responsive budgeting, and covers the period from November 2021 - January 2022 based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, including content analysis, journalist survey and semistructured interviews with experts in this field.

The Levers of Change: Gender Equality Attitudes Study 2022, is the latest iteration of a bi-annual global study that tracks attitudes towards gender. The study, developed under the leadership of UN Women in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, Kantar, Procter & Gamble and Unilever, examines perceptions across a multitude of areas including leadership and political participation, education, healthcare, the workplace, media representation, marriage and family life, safety and violence, and control over personal decisions.

This report captures Kosovar citizens’ knowledge of the gender equality legal framework, their perceptions and expectations regarding gender-based roles and behavior at home, and their attitudes towards changing or improving gender equality, violence against women, and domestic violence.

A gender analysis of 477 government socio-economic policy responses adopted in 18 countries and territories in Europe and Central Asia over the first year of COVID-19, reveals that only 7 per cent specifically reference women and can be classified as gender-sensitive. This calls for governments to prioritize gender-responsive policy responses in the context of COVID-19 and emergencies. Measures recorded were in relation to social protection, labour market, and economic, fiscal and business stimulus.
