This publication presents the results achieved by the Municipalities supported by UN Women in effective implementation of gender responsive budgeting in North Macedonia.

Women and Men in North Macedonia - a statistical portrait of trends in gender equality examines the trends in gender equality in several key areas, while analysing 12 editions of the Women and Men in North Macedonia, a signature publication by the State Statistical Office of North Macedonia, published in the period 2000 - 2021.

The Gender Equality Facility (GEF) in North Macedonia project factsheet provides general overview of project objectives, funding, duration and partnerships behind the works at central level to increase long-term capacities and skills of key Government personnel mandated for European Integration and Gender Equality, so GE goals are increasingly reflected in the country’s planning and policy processes.

This evaluation report documents the results of the "Changing the attitudes and behavior of police officers through the implementation of norms for the protection of victims of violence in the Tuzla Canton" project in relation to its specific objectives and expected results. It further identifies good practices and lessons learned to inform designing of similar interventions in the future.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender responsive budgeting in the ten Municipalities of Aerodrom, Bitola, Gjorche Petrov, Gostivar, Kochani, Kriva Palanka, Shtip, Strumica, Sveti Nikole, and Veles provide data and evidence on the impact of COVID-19 on gender-responsive programmes.

Guide for Gender Mainstreaming in the Strategic Plans for Line Ministries and Other State Adminitration Bodies provides a practical guidance for the administrative officials in mainstreaming gender into the strategic planing and policy-making at the central level.

The Manual for Facilitators: Gender Sensitive Refugee Response Programmes - Capacity Development Training for Civil Society Organizations aims to ensure continuous capacity development for a more gender-responsive refugee response, focused on front-line service providers, civil society organizations that work with/for the refugee and host communities, including those involved in programme design and implementation. 

“Implementing Gender-Responsive Planning and Budgeting in Turkey” project aims to empower women and further strengthen gender equality in Turkey through systematic and sustainable integration of gender perspective at all stages of national and local policy-making and budgeting processes.

Unstereotype Alliance Turkey Marketing Communications Playbook is a tool aimed at providing practical advice on how brands and companies can combat stereotypes in their communications by showcasing "best in class" cases of Turkey National Chapter members, and catalyse the movement toward realistic and progressive portrayals of all people.

This report describes the results of an eight-month Youth Engagement Initiative led by UN Women Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECARO), aiming to provide a space for young activists not as recipients and beneficiaries, but as active agents of change in the processes of transformative actions of the Generation Equality journey.

The training intended to build the capacity of actors working with the 3RP in Turkey to incorporate gender perspectives into programming and policies. The training was organized by UN Women, with financial contributions from the government of the EU, Government of Japan, Iceland and Sweden.

The "Research study on the perception of men and boys on child, early and forced marriages in Turkey" presents a comprehensive analysis on how men's perceptions and attitudes act as an enabling or preventing factor for child, early and forced marriages. It provides important insights into creating behavioral change, and facilitating stronger engagement of men and boys towards the elimination of child, early and forced marriages and achieving gender equality.

Gender equality and women’s rights are not just women’s issue, it is a human rights issue. Women combat for their rights every day everywhere. But to achieve an equal world for all, men should question power dynamics in their actions and words and take responsibility for change.

This training manual is designed for actors involved in the prevention and countering of violent extremism (P/CVE) in Europe and Central Asia including state officials, members of non-governmental organizations, community activists, staff of UN agencies, international and regional organizations to help them understand violent extremism’s gender dimensions.

Under the "Women in Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina" project, UN Women produced a Guide intended to inform political parties in considering different strategies for strengthening women's political participation and their political influence in political processes by reinforcing parties’ internal structures. The Guide is intended for all political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of whether they have dealt with gender equality issues on a systemic level before or not.

The report presents an analysis of the initial and differing impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on women and men in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, North Macedonia and Serbia . The report outlines government measures and subsequent budget rebalancing and reveals anlysis on the initial gender impact with focus on country specific selected sectors.

Women in Serbia play a key role in responding to the COVID-19 outbreak, including as front-line healthcare workers, carers at home, community leaders and mobilisers. This publication features inspiring stories of 13 extraordinary women working tirelessly at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic.

This assessment was conducted from March to June 2020 in cooperation with TUSIAD, TURKONFED and UN Women Turkey to gain insights into the potential gendered effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the private sector, and to contribute to the development of policies to safeguard gender equality.
