The Gender Responsive News Content Checklist provides media professionals with a set of guiding principles on news reporting that empower women and girls and avoid reinforcing existing inequalities and harmful gender norms. The Checklist is an easy-to-use tool that offers recommendations to consider for the news language, use of photography and interviews.

The “Women in politics: 2023” map, created by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and UN Women, presents new data for women in executive positions and national parliaments as of 1 January 2023. During the Third Regional Forum on Ending Violence against Women in the Western Balkans and Turkey, representatives from governments, regional institutions and civil society from the Western Balkans and Turkey adopted a road map to advance work with perpetrators, leverage data through establishing femicide watches, promote social norms that favour equality, and make necessary amendments in laws, policies and budgets to provide fully funded, sustainable and high-quality services for survivors of violence.

The data shows all-time highs for the number of countries with women Heads of State or Heads of Government, as well as for the global share of women ministers.

The “Regional Guidelines for Risk Assessment and Risk Management to Prevent the Recurrence and Escalation of Violence Against Women” are designed to inform and support relevant authorities tasked with dealing with cases of violence against women, including institutions in the chain of protection of women from violence, when creating measures and policies to prevent violence against women and its escalation. The guidelines were developed by the Center of Women’s Rights, based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the UN Women’s regional programme on ending violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey "Implementing Norms, Changing Minds," funded by the European Union.

Under the "Women in Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina" project, UN Women produced a Guide intended to inform political parties in considering different strategies for strengthening women's political participation and their political influence in political processes by reinforcing parties’ internal structures. The Guide is intended for all political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of whether they have dealt with gender equality issues on a systemic level before or not.
