The guidance proposes a methodology using a step-by-step guidelines to track planned and actual expenditures on GEWE in programming. It attempts to integrate United Nations Country Team (UNCT) Gender Equality Marker (GEM) processes within the UN INFO reporting system into this new methodology and is divided into three sections. The methodology allows the UN Agencies and development actors to demonstrate greater accountability for gender equality commitments and to track financing for GEWE more effective in programming.

The report summarizes UN Women’s key areas of progress and results during the first five months of the full-fledged war in Ukraine. The lives of women and men across Ukraine have been profoundly impacted by the crisis brought on by the escalation to a full-fledged war on 24 February 2022. UN Women acted swiftly to ensure that women and girls affected by the war are supported and that the humanitarian response to the crisis is gender sensitive.

This study contains research and evidence on needs and priorities of young women affected by war and is aimed at facilitating advocacy initiatives for young women to voice their concerns and demands. The study is developed by UN Women Ukraine together with NGO Internews Ukraine.

The policy analysis includes gender and human rights analysis of normative and policy framework on decentralization, analysis of existing practices of provision of services in Amalgamated Territorial Communities (ATCs) for women and men, especially those in vulnerable situation, including in the context of COVID-19 outbreak, and participation of women in local development, from the perspective of GE and HRBA.

Violence against women and domestic violence are widespread phenomena that have a tremendous impact on all aspects of society. Perpetrator programmes, as outlined in Article 16 of the Istanbul Convention, are one of the key elements in preventing violence against women and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of survivors. In this regard, this research focuses on the mapping and analysis of existing perpetrator programmes in the Western Balkans, the status of the implementation of Article 16 of the Istanbul Convention and the key recommendations for improvements at the regional and country level, within the scope of Article 16.

The three-year project, "Strengthening civil society capacities and multi-stakeholder partnerships to advance women’s rights and gender equality in Turkey," financed by the European Union, aims to help women’s rights groups, women-led civil society organizations (CSOs) and other relevant rights-based CSOs improve their capacity to influence national and local women’s rights and gender equality agendas.

This manual is a result of close collaboration of UN Women, Ministry of Interior of Federation Bosnia and Herzegovina, experts, police professionals and representatives of Cantonal Ministries of Interior in the Federation of BiH. It serves as a tool for training of police professionals on police response to cases of domestic violence in line with the entity domestic violence and criminal legislation.

The research looks into how the implementation of good practices on community policing could contribute to prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls at the community level. This publication also provides recommendations to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and National Police of Ukraine on community policing and prevention violence against women and girls.

The findings of the assessment reveal inter alia a very low number of protection orders issued in the conflict-affected Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. This points out to low awareness of survivors of domestic violence about this protection mechanism, as well as poor quality of the legal advice received in such cases. Additionally, the assessment results show that there is a high burden of proof imposed on survivors and that children witnesses of domestic violence are rarely recognized as victims of domestic violence.

In 2020, UN Women Turkey implemented a diverse portfolio of projects and programmes, adapting them to respond to the growing and changing needs of women and girls amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Highlights 2020 report tells UN Women Turkey's story over the year 2020 and presents its work and main results achieved under the programmes and campaigns.

The “Regional Guidelines for Risk Assessment and Risk Management to Prevent the Recurrence and Escalation of Violence Against Women” are designed to inform and support relevant authorities tasked with dealing with cases of violence against women, including institutions in the chain of protection of women from violence, when creating measures and policies to prevent violence against women and its escalation. The guidelines were developed by the Center of Women’s Rights, based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the UN Women’s regional programme on ending violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey "Implementing Norms, Changing Minds," funded by the European Union.

This publication intends to support policy makers, employers, and activists by sharing UN Women’s work on this topic and offering new guidance on policy and practice on sexual harassment.

This rapid gender assessment report aims to understand the different dimensions of how the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures adopted to tackle it have affected the lives of women and men in Serbia. It also advocates for gender responsiveness in the relief and recovery measures that will be undertaken to alleviate the consequences of the pandemic.
