Co-led and developed by UN Women on behalf of the Regional Gender Taskforce, this gender brief analyzes the access to employment and livelihoods of refugees from Ukraine and its gendered impacts. This is done through a review of key barriers (women) refugees face to building livelihoods, an identification of good practices adopted thus far, and 38 recommendations for how actors in the humanitarian response can address these barriers moving forward.

The Levers of Change: Gender Equality Attitudes Study 2022, is the latest iteration of a bi-annual global study that tracks attitudes towards gender. The findings of the assessment reveal inter alia a very low number of protection orders issued in the conflict-affected Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. This points out to low awareness of survivors of domestic violence about this protection mechanism, as well as poor quality of the legal advice received in such cases. Additionally, the assessment results show that there is a high burden of proof imposed on survivors and that children witnesses of domestic violence are rarely recognized as victims of domestic violence.
