A new report published by the Regional Gender Task Force (RGTF), the leading advocacy and information and coordination platform on gender in humanitarian action in Europe and Central Asia, provides an in-depth analysis of existing evidence to increase understanding of gender and other social aspects and trends across the region.

The guidance proposes a methodology using a step-by-step guidelines to track planned and actual expenditures on GEWE in programming. It attempts to integrate United Nations Country Team (UNCT) Gender Equality Marker (GEM) processes within the UN INFO reporting system into this new methodology and is divided into three sections. The methodology allows the UN Agencies and development actors to demonstrate greater accountability for gender equality commitments and to track financing for GEWE more effective in programming.

The indicators aim to raise Central Asian stakeholders' awareness and understanding of the response to the HIV epidemic from a gender equality perspective. They can be used to monitor progress in eliminating gender-based inequalities in HIV responses and to evaluate programmes that address specific gender-equality HIV interventions.
