Roma women and men in North Macedonia continue to face deep and overlapping inequalities in access to education, employment, healthcare, housing, and public services. These challenges are often intensified for Roma women and girls due to the combined effects of gender inequality, poverty, social exclusion, and discrimination. Addressing these gaps is essential for building inclusive policies that reflect both European Union values and national commitments to equality. The analysis examines how well national Roma integration policies, particularly the Strategy for Inclusion of Roma 2022–2030, address gender equality. The publication assesses whether Roma integration policies align with EU gender equality standards and national frameworks, and whether they adequately respond to the distinct needs of Roma women and men. Using a combination of policy review, stakeholder surveys, and in-depth interviews, the analysis identifies where gender considerations are missing or insufficiently addressed.
