Driving Transformation. The EU4GE Programme’s Journey with Civil Society Organizations

“Driving Transformation. The EU4GE Programme’s Journey with Civil Society Organizations” captures the two-phase journey of the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence” programme in partnering with civil society organizations to advance gender equality and transform social norms. It presents key approaches, lessons learned, and recommendations for future interventions in the programme countries and beyond.

Evidence from the programme’s evaluation and ongoing work highlights the success of partner-driven interventions in shifting social norms. Investing in feminist and community-based organizations, and engaging men, boys, youth, and media influencers, has proven critical to creating inclusive, long-term change. The publication outlines the programme’s strategic approaches to working with CSOs, highlighting innovative partnerships, intersectional initiatives, and lessons that can inform future gender equality efforts across the region.

This publication is produced in the framework of the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence" programme (phase 2), funded by the European Union, implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA.
