Gender Analysis of Taxation Policy in Serbia
UN Women Serbia has released the Gender Analysis of Taxation Policy in Serbia, a key resource for advancing the implementation of Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB). This analysis explores how tax systems and policies can affect women and men differently, considering factors like income, labor-force participation, consumption, ownership, entrepreneurship, savings, tax morale, and compliance. The report highlights how these differences can either reinforce existing gender inequalities or foster gender equality. It provides practical, actionable recommendations for refining key areas of taxation—such as property, personal income, gift and inheritance, and value-added taxes—to better support women and promote gender equality in Serbia.
