Branka Mincheva Kocevska (author), contribution from: Neda Maleska Sachmaroska, Jovana Trenchevska and the GRB team in North Macedonia (Ivona Paunovich Bishevac, Ivan Vchkov and Kristina Plecic Bekjarova)

The aim of this Guide is to assist administrative officials working in the ministries and other state administration bodies in preparing gender-responsive policies, quality strategic plans and annual work plans of the institutions. It provides step by step guidance on mainstreaming gender into the strategic planning and policy-making processes at central level.

The Guide provides an overview of the key steps in the strategic planning process: analysis of the situation in the planned policy area, mapping the possible entry points for mainstreaming gender, creating gender-responsive programmes and sub-programmes, defining gender-sensitive indicators for measuring the  progress of specific policy and monitoring and evaluating results from implementation of gender-responsive activities and measures.

This guide was produced in the framework of the UN Women project “Promoting gender responsive policies and budgets: Towards transparent, inclusive and accountable governance in the Republic of North Macedonia”, funded by Switzerland and Sweden.
