On 22 May 2012 in Kara-Suu Rayon, Osh oblast, the Community Fund "Otuz Adyr" inaugurated a kindergarten after it had been renovated and re-equipped with the financial support of UN Women and contributions organized by the Fund.

Specialist of the provincial administration Ms. Anara Kaparova, a representative of the district state administration, the head of the local self/government, civil society representatives and the Representative of UN Women Dr. Sabine Machl attended the ceremony “...this is an important event for us as. The United Nations assistance helps solve many problems such as access to preschool education, the quality of education, early-round development of children, bringing up of a new generation that is educated, cultured, tolerant, sociable ... "

In November 2011 the Community Fund “Otuz Adyr” drafted the proposal for financial support under the grant component of the Central Asia Regional Programme on Migration in support of social initiatives in the seven pilot villages of Kyrgyzstan.

Community members of Otuz Adyr village jointly identified several problems, but the most important was the rehabilitation of the kindergarten. "The floors were damaged, the music hall was covered by asbestos – this can be a threat to the health of children" – said Ms. Toktokan Ismailova, the Head of Community Fund. "After a major rehabilitation, children can safely play barefoot and we will not be afraid that the floors will break. In addition, new equipment and brightly painted walls look pleasing to the eye!"

As a result of this initiative, 58 children will have access to pre-school education, 10 teachers will be occupied.

The proposal was fully consistent with the purpose for the grant which was to support self-help groups (SGH), their associations and village funds for the implementation of local initiatives aimed at improving and rehabilitating infrastructure, this contributing to the improvement of vulnerable migrant families’ welfare.
