Event description

This side event, taking place at the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW63), will spotlight how countries in Central Asia address issues related to social protection systems, public services, and sustainable infrastructure to contribute to transformative change for women and girls and ensure that no one is left behind.

High-level government representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will highlight sub-regional perspectives, experiences, and lessons learned, as well as the existing challenges and gaps in the provision of high-quality, equitable, and accessible social protection systems, public services, and sustainable infrastructures for the achievement of gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The side event is organized by the governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia. The event will be conducted in Russian.
