Despite existing legal obligations and good corporate practices in many Serbian companies, there is a need to further strengthen corporate knowledge and practice on women’s rights and gender equality in Serbia. In addition, there’s a need to build a strong multi-stakeholder coalition that includes governments and civil society and that consistently brings forward a gender equality agenda with business. The Women’s Empowerment Principles, on which this self-assessment questionnaire is based, provide a roadmap for this purpose.

Gender Equality in Business consists  of two parts:  the Guiding notes on The Women’s Empowerment Principles including best practices for their application; and the self-assessment questionnaire that was prepared to help Serbian Global Compact members identify existing pro-women practices and provide businesses with useful examples of best practices from leading organisations that already benefit from having adopted the Women’s Empowerment Principles.
